Dr. Gordon’s bioX
Dr. Gordon is also the founder and owner of Gordon Medical Associates (GMA), a private medical practice specializing in chronic illness, and the non-profit Gordon Medical Research Center (GMRC), which raises funds for medical research.
In addition to seeing patients in his practice, Dr. Gordon’s interest in deeply understanding chronic illness led to his organizing and serving as medical advisor and moderator for a series of medical symposia from 2007-2009. These intensive five-day meetings brought together extraordinary faculties, each consisting of approximately 30 leading international academic medical researchers and cutting-edge clinicians, respectively focusing on CFS, Lyme, autoimmune diseases and autism.
The collaboration of an innovative medical practice with a university research center has been Dr. Gordon’s lifelong dream. Combining forces with Dr. Robert Naviaux and his research into metabolomics, mitochondrial function, and chronic inflammatory disease is now bringing this dream to life.

Kelly has been added as a SISOH’s Research Coordinator, becoming the head coordinator for the AIMS study as well as our other reserach. Kelly attended Empire College and graduated with her degree in Medical Assisting and Phlebotomy in July 2011. She started working at Gordon Medical Associates in April 2011 as an Extern, became fulltime staff in May 2011, and is working now at SISOH from early 2017. She enjoys working with the patients and the wonderful staff at GMA. Kelly was involved in the writing on the GMA website, and we were delighted to have her informed input in creating educational material for our patients. We are fortunate to have her take over our research, as her emphasis on detail and her grounding in phlebotomy is exactly what is needed. When she is not in the office she is enjoying time with her wonderful husband and two amazing children. Most weekends you can find them on the beach picnicking or exploring.

Asha graduated from the University of California, San Diego, with a B.S. in Psychology, specialization in neuroscience. While at UCSD, she had the pleasure to work with Dr. V.S. Ramachandran on phantom limb studies. After 8 years in San Diego, Asha moved back to where she grew up, the beautiful redwoods in the town of Occidental. Asha joined the SISOH staff in 2014 as a research coordinator working with the Metabolomics project and the research findings “Metabolic features of chronic fatigue syndrome” that was published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science in August 2016. Asha believes an awareness of one’s mind-body connection is the key to true and long lasting healing. She witnesses this daily with the patients who are willing to explore the many levels of self-awareness and understanding, often experience profound levels of healing.
